MZ01: Candi Cankuang [Working Title]

MZ01 is my first publication for Mausantara. It is currently a work in progress with additional motivation provided by #ZungeonJam25.

Set in Cangkuang, the site of a medieval Hindu shrine in West Java, this MZ01 features a slew of dungeon maps and creature illustrations by the outstanding Fernando Salvaterra. My own overland maps are enhanced by a fabulous set of traditional RPG styled as map icons by Vicky Radcliffe. 

MZ01 is a sandbox adventure containing a standard Mausritter overland map with 19 sub-hexes for the main adventure site, random tables for each hex type including some keyed to specific hexes, a handful of hooks, tons of rumours and factions, as well as Sundanese themed NPCs, animals, and monsters.  

The goal is to create interaction between the various elements, some rumours will be  specific to set NPCs, locations have connections to each other, some random encounters need to be triggered by other encounters or PC actions.

So far there are three nearly complete overland maps, several unkeyed dungeon  maps, and bullet pointed ideas for locations with images for included animals, monsters, and spirits. 

The goal is to have MZ01 in its final form by the close of Zungeon Jam 2025. I'm uploading and updating draft files to share in the Zungeon25 community and anyone who enjoys following my progress as I post about it on BlueSky. 

This will always be free to download but donations are much appreciated and  will go towards paying marginalised contributers to my main zine projects.
